Knowledge of your past provides the things needed to push you toward your new goals and away from your old worries.

We must see what we are getting away from to know where we want to arrive.

When we sail away from letting go of the things that anchored us, we give ourselves a chance to soar. When we clear the clouds that shadowed our lives, we gain a clear view on the things we have been trapped inside of. From our lowest moments to our highest pinnacles, there is an in between ground that we must come to appreciate. There is a point in our journey where things turn around and we experience a crucial opportunity. We have a choice to make as we face the opportunity to understand the vast darkness that we were able to escape by following our unyielding light.

I floated with no internal support while everyone outside of me tried to help. I wanted to drown everything out with no life raft to help me stay above water. My foundation was the anchor that pulled me down. On top of that foundation lived an empty and fragile human resting on broken promises and miserable failures. I was at a point of no return due to the stubborn thoughts of being comfortably alone in my mind. I had given up on finding a way out. In the mean time, my reasons for finding a way out had never given up on saving me. I realized this when I made the decision to swim instead of sink. I was worth more than anything and anyone that told me I was not.

Storms on the horizon can be intimidating because we know they will arrive eventually, but how we learn to deal with the things that look to destroy us is what makes us who we are. We can give in to the things that hold our heads down, or we can barge our way through our struggles and not allow them to conquer us as they intend to. Without you these is no chance, and without a chance there is no change.
