Through the process of finding ourselves, there is a proud and thankful place in finding the things in life that support your movement. These things help us continue to take large strides through anything that tries to barricade our path. There are not many things through my personal experience that created an immunity to struggles.
Music has been my saving grace through times where I could not and did not care about escaping anywhere outside of my miserable state. I had so many quiet thoughts and car rides full of silence without noticing that the road was all there was to hear. An empty place in a soul full of love and an unscripted promise to helping others. Illenium (Nicholas D. Miller) is an artist that I can definitively state has saved my life.
There is a story behind his music that speaks so closely to everything that I have dealt with and all that I have been able to overcome. I had bought this hat not to long ago to show my support and thanks to all that he was able to do for me from a distance. I wear it every day at some point and every single time I put it on I am able to escape thoughts of the old me and appreciate where I am at now. Today is Christmas and my brother, as well as the rest of my family, are well aware of all that I have done to battle this painstaking void.
I have never known a single thing about myself and am learning about life at the age of 32. Everything that has been needed to get this far without collapsing has been what matters to myself supported by someone that I did not know at all. There are several artists that work closely with Illineum which also hit me right in the soul. It may not be music for you, but there is something that you probably are not even aware of. These meaningful things will move you beyond your wildest problems and support you from not turning around to return to them again.
